B.S Biology, Providence College, 2018

SUMMARY

Alex received his B.S in Biology from Providence College in 2018. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in the lab of Dr. Joe DiGiorgis, developing new Alzheimer’s Disease models. From there,  Alex went on to work as a research technician at Weill Cornell Medicine, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He helped establish a COVID biobank of clinical patient samples for future research. Alex then started his PhD studies in the Molecular Genetics & Microbiology program in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. He joined the Krainer lab, where he is currently exploring the roles of mRNA modifications and alternative splicing in cancer. Alex enjoys playing ice hockey and golf in his free time.
