SUMMARY

For her MS thesis, Shivani worked on optimizing AAV (adeno-associated virus) delivery for gene therapy at Dr. John Rasko's lab at University of Sydney, and developed an interest in nucleic acid therapies. She joined Stony Brook University's Graduate Program in Genetics in 2023, and the Krainer Lab in 2024. She is currently interested in working on antisense oligonucleotide therapies for brain cancer. 


Outside of lab, Shivani enjoys everything Bollywood, music and singing (she plays the ukulele).
